It's hard to believe, but today is our 20th wedding anniversary! I met my soul-mate over 21 years ago, and made it official 20 years ago today. I always get a little melancholy looking at our wedding photos, because we were married at the Louisiana Nature and Science Center (yes, I've always been a science lover). We had the swap with its plants and animals, including alligators as our "cathedral". This was in East New Orleans, and was so heavily flooded and damaged by Hurricane Katrina, that it still to this day closed. My kids were able to visit it a few times prior to 2005, and for that I am grateful. It's a wonderful place, and I hope it gets rebuilt.
I must also add that my heart still skips a beat when I look at these pictures too! It's been a great 20+ years!!
I'm afraid my WIP's are mostly a continuation of last week's. We went camping over the week-end, and I have been a bit under the weather, but I did manage to finish sewing my "Giant Granny Panties" Quilt. As you can see, it just needs ironing and trimming the edges.
I also finished sewing the "1"'s and "0"'s together for my son's binary code curtains. Since this won't need to be quilted or bound, I'm hoping to have them up very soon.
I got some lovely things in the mail this week, including an Isacord thread color chart, so that I can accurately select thread colors to order on-line. I decided to go ahead and order a few for my "Modern Granny" Quilt.
I also got these 2 lovely swap postcards in the mail from Monika and Judy. The these was "what I did this summer". Judy's daughter was married, and it's pretty neat that this card arrived just a day before our own anniversary. I'm always thrilled to get Monika's beautiful postcards, and this one is so beautiful! Thanks!!
I'm off to buy some champagne and get a card and present ready for later ;-).
